The Position: The Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing procurement, inventory, and warehouse operations that support company projects and daily operations. This role oversees purchasing activities, supplier coordination, inventory control, and all shipping and receiving functions. The position requires close review of awarded project Statements of Work (SOW) and Bills of Materials (BOM) to ensure materials, equipment, and supplies are sourced accurately, cost-effectively, and on schedule. The ideal candidate brings experience in procurement and warehouse management. Working knowledge of manufacturers and suppliers within the telecommunications and security systems industry is required.

Reliable transportation is required. Candidates must be willing to undergo background screening and drug testing. This position is not applicable for remote work.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement and Purchasing:

• Develop and execute procurement strategies that support project timelines and operational needs.
• Review awarded project SOWs and BOMs to ensure accurate purchasing of materials and equipment.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers to achieve competitive pricing, quality, and reliability.
• Monitor market conditions and vendor offerings to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Warehouse and Inventory Management:

• Oversee warehouse operations including inventory organization, storage, and material flow.
• Manage inventory levels to balance availability with cost control.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular audits.
• Develop and enforce procedures for inventory control, material handling, and warehouse efficiency.

Supplier and Vendor Management:

• Maintain strong working relationships with key vendors and manufacturers.

Budgeting, Reporting, and Coordination:

• Prepare reports on purchasing activity, inventory status, and cost performance.

• Coordinate with finance to ensure accurate invoicing, purchase order reconciliation, and timely payments.

Experience and Qualifications:

The Location(s): Tidewater Region, VA

The Position: The Electronic Security Technician is responsible for tasks associated with the installation of Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion detection, and Fire alarm systems. The job description listed herein is a basis of design and is not all inclusive.

Specific Essential Functions: Install CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion, and Fire Alarm hardware cabling, Panel terminations, Programming and Testing. Performing preventive maintenance and repair as per a client maintenance agreement and/or warranty. Able to perform troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing systems and/or equipment. Position requires technician to participate in an on-call rotation schedule. Technician would be available to answer client calls after normal working hours and on weekend/holidays depending on the rotation order. Responsible for updating Management on the status of all work performed daily. Notify Management daily of any materials needed to complete duties. Perform additional Security Technician and related functions as assigned by Management and deemed within the general skill and ability level of a productive Security Technician in our industry.

Required to adhere to OSHA Safety Standards. Required to possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable with our auto insurance carrier during course of employment. Obtain and keep up-to-date DCJS Registration. As appropriate and applicable, become certified in all product lines. Receive professional and technical knowledge by attending manufacturer training, seminars, conferences, etc. when made available by manager. Attend all team training and safety meetings. All employees will be required to pass all background checks, motor vehicle record check, and drug screening.

Physical Requirements: Required to safely lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Required to stand; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; reach with hands and arms. Will frequently be required to walk, sit, and use hands to pull cables and wires, use power tools, work in various positions and climb ladders and/or scaffolding. Positions requires the necessary vision to work with small, color-coded wiring. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud on occasion and employee may be exposed to outside weather elements. Travel may be necessary on occasion

The Position: We are seeking an OSP Engineer responsible for conducting field activities to support telecommunications projects. Work functions include desktop feasibility analysis using Google Earth, pole/conduit/site surveys, OSP field engineering, and related tasks. The successful candidate will take full ownership of assignments, schedules, and deadlines while working independently and in collaboration with senior engineers and project managers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct Google Earth analysis of potential network routes.
• Collect and review field data for accuracy and completeness.
• Perform preliminary route reconnaissance and selection.
• Complete field surveys to support make-ready solutions that meet client specifications.
• Participate in joint ride-outs with utilities as required.
• Support conduit licensing processes across multiple utilities.
• Review client specifications, design standards, and construction guidelines to ensure compliance.
• Document findings in required forms and formats for drafting or client deliverables.
• Identify ownership of known subsurface obstructions along proposed routes.
• Assist in preparing engineering drawings and bid documents.

This position is open to candidates with Outside Plant Construction (OSP) experience building fiber optic networks.

The Position: We seek a qualified OSP Project Manager with a thorough knowledge of OSP Construction and Fiber Optics, experience bidding jobs, and skills in communicating with customers and collaborating with team members. A minimum of five years in OSP Construction is preferred. The successful candidate will manage all project life cycle phases, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This role requires strong leadership skills, extensive industry knowledge, and the ability to effectively coordinate cross-functional teams.

• Have a working knowledge of OSP Construction methods including aerial, buried, and underground cable placement.

Express-tek is looking for Cad Drafters experienced in AutoCAD. Express-tek is a telecom engineering company and our drawings include civil road bases to simple 2D building drawings.  One successful candidate should have one year experience working in AutoCAD. We are accepting applications for a Quality OSP Construction Inspector. The information is as listed below. This has been presented to us as a long term position. This position is in the Ashburn/Manassas, Virginia area. You may have multiple construction crews in the field to inspect for quality, safety and accountability. You would report directly to local management. A background check will be conducted and you will carry a security card for access to data centers, restricted areas and warehouses. In addition to OSP responsibilities you may be required to assist in loading cables or other materials from the  warehouse. Previous forklift experience will be helpful however we will send you to a certified training class.
