Entry-Level Structured Cabling and Electronic Security Technician

The Position: As an Entry-Level Structured Cabling and Electronic Security Technician, you will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems and electronic security equipment. You will work closely with our senior technicians to ensure that our clients’ networks and security systems are installed and functioning optimally. Pay Range: $17-$25 Hourly
Responsibilities:
- Assist senior technicians in the installation, termination, and testing of structured cabling systems, including copper and fiber optic cables.
- Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of electronic security systems, such as access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and video surveillance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with industry standards, project specifications, and client requirements.
- Assist in the troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues related to structured cabling and electronic security systems.
- Conduct site surveys and assist in the preparation of project documentation, including drawings, cable schedules, and test reports.
- Follow safety guidelines and best practices to always ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment, materials, and work performed.
- Continuously enhance technical knowledge and skills through on-the-job training and self-study.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or vocational training in structured cabling, electronics, or a related field is a plus.
- Basic understanding of structured cabling principles, including copper and fiber optic cabling standards and installation techniques.
- Familiarity with electronic security systems, such as access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection, is desirable.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools commonly used in cabling and electronic security installations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites as required.
