The Position: We are seeking an OSP Engineer responsible for conducting field activities to support telecommunications projects. Work functions include desktop feasibility analysis using Google Earth, pole/conduit/site surveys, OSP field engineering, and related tasks. The successful candidate will take full ownership of assignments, schedules, and deadlines while working independently and in collaboration with senior engineers and project managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Google Earth analysis of potential network routes.
  • Collect and review field data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform preliminary route reconnaissance and selection.
  • Complete field surveys to support make-ready solutions that meet client specifications.
  • Participate in joint ride-outs with utilities as required.
  • Support conduit licensing processes across multiple utilities.
  • Review client specifications, design standards, and construction guidelines to ensure compliance.
  • Document findings in required forms and formats for drafting or client deliverables.
  • Identify ownership of known subsurface obstructions along proposed routes.
  • Assist in preparing engineering drawings and bid documents.
  • Attend project status meetings, permit coordination sessions, and design criteria meetings.
  • Prepare, review, and recommend project documents and drawings for client approval.
  • Assist with construction contract estimates.
  • Investigate and resolve design-related issues during the removal phase.
