The Location(s): Tidewater Region, VA
The Position: The Electronic Security Technician is responsible for tasks associated with the installation of Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion detection, and Fire alarm systems. The job description listed herein is a basis of design and is not all inclusive.
Specific Essential Functions: Install CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion, and Fire Alarm hardware cabling, Panel terminations, Programming and Testing. Performing preventive maintenance and repair as per a client maintenance agreement and/or warranty. Able to perform troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing systems and/or equipment. Position requires technician to participate in an on-call rotation schedule. Technician would be available to answer client calls after normal working hours and on weekend/holidays depending on the rotation order. Responsible for updating Management on the status of all work performed daily. Notify Management daily of any materials needed to complete duties. Perform additional Security Technician and related functions as assigned by Management and deemed within the general skill and ability level of a productive Security Technician in our industry.

Educational/Experience Requirements: Experience in CCTV, Access Control, Alarm & Intrusion, and Fire Alarm installation & programming for such systems as Honeywell, Avigilon, LENEL, Panasonic, and Fire-Lite. Required to adhere to OSHA Safety Standards. Required to possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable with our auto insurance carrier during course of employment. Obtain and keep up-to-date DCJS Registration. As appropriate and applicable, become certified in all product lines. Receive professional and technical knowledge by attending manufacturer training, seminars, conferences, etc. when made available by manager. Attend all team training and safety meetings. All employees will be required to pass all background checks, motor vehicle record check, and drug screening.
Physical Requirements: Required to safely lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Required to stand; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; reach with hands and arms. Will frequently be required to walk, sit, and use hands to pull cables and wires, use power tools, work in various positions and climb ladders and/or scaffolding. Positions requires the necessary vision to work with small, color-coded wiring. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud on occasion and employee may be exposed to outside weather elements. Travel may be necessary on occasion
