The Position: Express Technologies Inc. is seeking two Apprentice Linemen to support aerial and underground fiber optic cable placement in the Fredericksburg, VA area. This role assists with the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic networks.
Aerial work includes new fiber optic placement, maintenance of existing networks, and emergency service calls. Underground work includes placement and removal of fiber optic cable using cable tuggers and fiber blowing equipment. Minimal digging or heavy equipment operation is required.
Reliable transportation is required. Candidates must be willing to undergo background screening and drug testing. This position is not applicable for remote work.
The Location: Fredericksburg, VA
Pay Range: Starting at $25.00 per hour for certified apprentice linemen. Pay for journeyman linemen will be based on experience.
Key Responsibilities
Aerial Fiber Work
Assist with the installation of new aerial fiber optic cable.
Support maintenance and repair of existing fiber networks.
Respond to emergency service calls when required.
Underground Fiber Work
Assist with the placement and removal of underground fiber optic cable.
Operate cable tuggers and fiber blowing equipment.
Support underground cable routing with minimal excavation.
Field Operations
Follow all safety procedures and industry standards.
Work with field crews and supervisors to complete projects on schedule.
Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean job site.
Experience and Qualifications
Certified Apprentice Lineman preferred.
Experience with aerial or underground fiber installation is a plus.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Strong attention to safety and detail.
Reliable transportation.
Ability to pass background screening and drug testing.
