Tenebris Fiber, a dark fiber provider in Virginia, recently announced the development of a new dark fiber network in northern Virginia, partnering with Express-Tek to begin phase one.

Express-Tek is providing design, engineering, and permitting services critical to the implementation of the project. With extensive knowledge of the area and permitting jurisdictions, Express-Tek is essential to complete the project in a timely manner.

The first phase involves design and permitting of 75 miles of new conduit and fiber in Loudoun, Prince William, and Fairfax Counties.

This carrier class network will provide dark fiber access from the communities of Ashburn to Manassas, benefitting schools, hospitals, hyperscalers, local government, data centers and more.

“Express-Tek has been working with Tenebris since its inception,” Stephen Brown, Executive Vice President of Express Technologies, said. “We are excited to help Tenebris grow into a major dark fiber company in this region.”

“From day one we knew using Express Technologies while we developed our route would be critical,” Sue Hageman, CEO of Tenebris Fiber, said. “Their local knowledge is unparallel and we are excited to move to the next phase with Express and look forward to continuing our long-term working relationship.”
