Services
Express has developed in-house expertise to assist in monitoring, maintaining and protecting utility assets. These services include aerial inspections for NESC and utility company standards compliance, pole attachment inventory surveys, as well as post construction audits. Certified and equipped for confined space entry, our team has the capability to inventory manholes, perform conduit route studies, place pulling wire and perform Outside Plant inspections.
Our capabilities also include route feasibility studies, conduit infrastructure, overhead design, relocation design, system expansion and code compliance. These abilities are supported by technical expertise in structural engineering, environmental permitting, geospatial system design, transportation engineering, and site facilities engineering. Related Projects
MWAA/WMATA Sliver Line Relocation
Location: Tysons, VA to Datacenter Alley in Ashburn, VA
Express-tek coordinated with MWAA, WMATA, VDOT, Local Jurisdictions, and all other utilities within the public right-of-way to relocate multiple carriers through Tysons, Reston, Herndon, Sterling, and Ashburn, VA for the installation of the new DC Metro Silver Line. This project started in 2007 and is still ongoing.
Multiple Long-haul Backbone Networks
Locations (not limited to): Virginia. Maryland, District of Colombia, Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee
Express-tek has designed, for multiple carriers, long-haul backbone networks. These networks helped provide greater network capacity for our client’s networks and have helped create diversity among their networks
Fiber to the Home
Location: Atlanta Metro Area
Express-tek designed the fiber backbone for a Fiber to the Home network throughout the Atlanta Metro Area.
Stafford County Public School Network Design
Location: Stafford County VA
Express-tek planned, designed and installed CCTV security integrations for all 31 county schools. Express-tek also planned, designed, engineered, certified and installed voice, data, and a fiber optic structured network cabling infrastructure for all county schools to public right-of-ways throughout the county, including administrative buildings and fire stations. This allowed for better network connectivity by providing diverse routes to ensure network stability.
Datacenter Conduit Systems
Multiple locations
Express-tek has provided conduit design services for multiple international datacenters in Ashburn, VA. This includes designing a conduit system connecting datacenter to datacenter, datacenter to internet service providers, datacenter campuses and for carriers.
Rural ILEC Networks
Locations: Virginia and West Virginia
Express-tek provided rural broadband design services and designed a state-of-the-art Radio Frequency over Glass (RFoG) network in underserved rural areas of Virginia and West Virginia. These networks helped provide internet and cable services to the businesses and residents of these areas.
XO Communications ONB Project
Locations: DC Metro Area and Atlanta Metro Area.
During a 26-month period, Express-tek planned, designed, engineered, and project managed a large-scale network expansion that had us design to approximately 450 buildings and bring online approximately 200 buildings in the D.C. Metro Area (District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia) and Atlanta Metro Area. Our team exceeded our client’s expectations by meeting the project financial and timeline milestones.
