Thinking Beyond the Blueprint

Welcome to the December edition of Beyond the Blueprint!

‘Tis the season for Telecor and for catching up on our newsletter—your chance to stay in the loop (and maybe earn a spot on the nice list 😉).

2025 has been an incredible year for Express-tek. We’re so grateful for the wins, the partnerships, and the people, employees, customers, partners, and manufacturers alike, who make it all possible. Our faith guides us in serving our communities, and as we look ahead to 2026, we remain ready to keep operations running smoothly no matter the season. Thank you!

Even as many campuses and facilities shift into holiday schedules or temporary closures, communication remains essential. From after-hours alerts to coordinated reopening plans, systems need to be ready when it matters most. At Express-tek, our motto is Connecting the World. During the holiday season, that connection means making sure the right messages reach the right people at the right time, even when buildings are quieter and teams are leaner.

Partner Spotlight:

Telecor

This month, we are highlighting Telecor, a trusted provider of IP-based paging and mass notification solutions built for high-demand environments.

Telecor systems support clear, campus-wide communication while allowing targeted messaging by zone or building. Their flexibility makes them well suited for schools, healthcare facilities, and public spaces that experience increased activity during the holiday season.

Key capabilities include:

  • Centralized paging and emergency notifications
  • Clear audio across indoor and outdoor environments
  • Seamless integration with security and life safety systems
  • Scalable architecture to support growing facilities

Takeaway: The best communication systems do more than broadcast messages. They provide confidence during busy seasons and ensure that every announcement, alert, or instruction is delivered clearly and reliably.

As the year wraps up, December is the right time to evaluate whether your communication systems are prepared for increased activity and unexpected events.

In the Field:

John A. Holmes High School

Work starts to wrap up at the new John A. Holmes High School in downtown Edenton, with progress underway both inside the facility and across the surrounding site. Located within the historic Town Common block and bounded by Broad Street, Oakum Street, and Freemason Street, the project replaces the original 1950-era building at 800 North Oakum Street.

Approved by the Edenton-Chowan School Board in March 2021, the new campus is supported by a state grant and local funding totaling approximately $82.4 million. The school is scheduled to open in 2026.

Express-tek has supported the project through the installation of campus-wide speaker paging and a Telecor communication system. These systems are designed to deliver clear, reliable messaging for daily operations and emergency response, helping ensure staff and students stay informed across the entire campus.

As we celebrate the birth of Christ this Christmas season, we’re reminded of the value of peace, preparation, and caring for one another. Strong partnerships and dependable systems make our work possible, and sometimes create moments of joy along the way. One client summed it up perfectly:

“Thank you, thank you! I’m so grateful for this Christmas miracle! Appreciate you all, Happy Holidays!

Even as campuses and facilities quiet down for family gatherings and well-earned rest, the systems that support our communities must stay ready. This season is a time to reflect, give thanks, and ensure that communication and infrastructure continue to serve safely and reliably as we look ahead to 2026.

From our family to yours, Merry Christmas!
